Sometimes we realise
Nothing is so complex

About who is running the world
How we should all be vegetarians
And about how the world is haunted
Or you can mind your own business
And grow old happily

What can we do

When the ideas evaporate
Leaving behind nothing
But a soft residue
What can be said, what can we do?

Long enough to change us

Human Thought

There is one drug
More addictive
Than anything
You could ingest.

It seeps its way
Into your soul
And makes it crave
And want more

When it runs low
You feel like death
Is the only way
To be okay again

Then at your low
It seeps in again
Hearts race
Blood rushes

As that addictive
Substance seeps in
Illuminating everything
The world is yours again

In the wee hours
You lay awake
And oh you ache
For she isn’t there

The cycle starts
Again

Are often the ones
We never want
To answer ourselves

Between the cracks

Floating around
From one group to the next
Never really fitting in
Too smart, too dumb
Too conservative, too artistic
Too innocent, too experienced
Too verbose, too quiet
Too happy , too sad
Unsure what to do
Unsure what to change
The clothes, the face
The endless emotion
The ebbs of apathy
The troughs of remorse
No matter which
I still don’t fit
Like OJ’s glove
I set them free
And in the end
I don’t know me

Love is a state
Created out of a need
To be needed
A want
To be wanted
A desire
To be desired
But alas
It’s mere thought
Can bring more pain
Than was ever understood
Before we attempted
To comprehend it.
