Pitch black Perfection

January 15, 2016

The soothing dark
No longer easy to find
That true darkness
Vast, empty, void
No man-made light
No bulbs or candles
Just the stars
As far as the eye can see

When we were young
You were there
When we grew up
I was unaware
When we were young
You tried so much
When we grew up
I knew such
When we were young
You held my hand
When we grew up
I saw you planned
When we were young
You helped us grow
When we grew up
I wanted you to know
I love you.

True beauty

December 15, 2014

There are many words
To try to convey beauty
None to your standard

July 14, 2014

The facts of your life
Accumulate together
Creating beauty

True Beauty

March 26, 2014

In a dingy diner
Her rough smile
Illuminated the room
The grey hair
Not quite in order
But distinguished
Pulled back
As she sipped
A cup of black coffee
And did the local crossword
Her gruff voice
From years of smoking
Croaked out
“I may not be beautiful
But I sure as hell understand
Beauty gets destroyed
Intelligence lasts a lifetime”

True love

October 9, 2013

I feel the fire
of this ephemeral flame
Burning with intensity
Never known
In all the lovers
I ever shared
In all the friends
For whom I cared
Only you
Ever made me alive
And for this emotion
I’ll always strive
You are my lover
You are my friend
And I’ll love you forever
Beyond the end

Climbing out

September 26, 2013

This rut is
But an ephemeral hole
To be filled
And forgotten
As days turn to nights
And nights to days
Leaves from green
To red, and finally brown.
Budding once more
As you rise again
A more powerful
And beautiful
