If the holidays
Still no rest
And back today
Running circles
Around the world
Never stopping
Head a swirl
Hopefully soon
It’ll be back to norm
Ending this crazy

The count

Family time
Makes me smile
Remembering
Youthfulness
And joy
Watching eachother grow
As we move along
This beam of life
Venturing further
As age continues to count
But not as much
As it once did

Boxing day

Commercially caught
Buying all that we can buy
Afterall, sale price!

As years have passed
Christmas has changed
It used to be about
The joy of getting what
I wanted to get.
Later, it became the
Disappointment
Or feeling of second place
When my friends got things
I didn’t know I wanted.
Finally, it has become
About the joy
Of seeing others smiles
Which I do not get to see
Often enough.
The warmth of family
The time spent together
That’s what it has become,
And for this
I am truly grateful.
