Another Poem

February 29, 2012

No reason
No rhyme
Hitting keys
One more time.

No thought
No soul
Never reach
Another goal

No feeling
No flare
Posting while
Not aware

No politics
No crime
Maybe it did
Start to rhyme.

Addiction is like a snake
Tightening us in its grip
Coiling us up with our own guilt
And our distaste of ourselves
Trapping us in its cyclic form
Removing the human from us
Leaving empty carcasses
The meat simply removed from bone
What little remains
Hates itself even more
For even after the snake has fed
One can still recognize
Their devoid and lifeless body.

This post marks two years of a poem a day. I guess I plan on keeping this going for at least awhile longer. Thank you all for your continued support and interest.
Wishing you all the best!

No energy
All drained away
Not even enough to breathe
Must try to live
Will is gone.

Worldly Pains

February 26, 2012

Are we lost
Or are we found
Without a god
We act so sound
Not here
Not there
We are unaware
The right the wrong
It is all the same
Truth and lie
Both bring pain
Which will it be
When we finally see
That we were never right
To start this fight
It was always our fault
That we commit assault
Damage our own
For nobody’s gain
The world is just full
Full of pain.

End of The Line

February 25, 2012

Desperation strikes
As the engines roar
Moving closer to
The end of the line.
Long painful seconds
Strike the final time
As the steele moves along
Reaching the end of the line.
Once more the breaks squeal
As the metal slows
A powerful and sudden force
At the end of the line.

Make it stop
No more!
All of this nonsense
Makes my brain sore.

Enough already
I’ve heard it all
Senseless arguments
Make my skin crawl.

Please quit
I’ve had all I can take
If I hear one more point
My mind will break.

That’s it
I’ve had more than enough
Before that last point
I thought I was tough.

Emotional Rainbow

February 23, 2012

A rainbow of emotion
Spreading fast
Like light entering a prism
One sullen beam
Bending outwards
Into an array of diverse emotion
Eventually colouring all the lives
It touches
Helping, hurting and mirroring
In those who are close.
