Questioning the question

January 7, 2015

A question asked
As a statement made
I love you
But what’s that you said?
Silence spoke
Louder than word
And this loneliness felt
Is not absurd

I Love You

I know in my heart
Lovers last in fairy tales
Only when challenge strikes
Valiant effort is needed
Everyone must fight
Young ones turn old
Old ones survive
Until happily ever after.

I Love You

October 4, 2012

One conversation
Two people
Three words
Four in reply.

February 14, 2011

This fourteenth day
I am required to say
I love you.

Every single year
This day I fear.
For those three words:
I love you.

Each minute I pass
I think of you lass
And if you’ll stay
If I dare to say:
I love you.

Any reason why
This day I lie
Telling you this
To try and reach bliss
Why must I say:
I love you

Any other time
It would not be a crime
If I didn’t care
And just made you aware
That it was true
And you just knew:
I love you.

Your tears are drying on my shoulder
Night and day are getting colder
Tears are shed for what has passed
In fools dreams this time can last.

You lay your head on my back
Hoping I will finally crack.
A single kiss planted on my spine
To let me know you are mine

Cold hard stare from tear glazed eyes
In this moment I am paralyzed
Thoughts run deep to the jungle floor
So much emotion coming in the door

All this anger and all this fright
All this sorrow and all this might
All this for three little words,
I love you, and it’s not absurd.
