Silent Phone

November 10, 2014

She used to hold me by the hand
And whisper to me she had a plan
When I learned to think for myself
She treated me like there was no one else.

But when I realized she was not right
Everything became a fight
We would fight the night away
Forgetting all our dreams at play

Every evening was filled with remorse
Pain, sorrow, a complete discourse
But as it was, when we were naïve
My heart was taken by a thieve

I was reminded why I would never love
Nothing good came with that shove
So in the end I’ll be alone
Sitting here with my silent phone.
